Healing is an important theme for us at Ubuntu. Mothers need to maintain balance with so many different aspects of our lives. The demands that are placed on mothers could make us feel unbalanced physically, mentally and spiritually. This series is designed for busy working mothers who may like to access a yoga meditation at any point during their day.

Each video recording is approximately 15 mins, and focuses on only one chakra or energy centre. The videos are here to support your vitality, and to help balance any areas of your life where you may be experiencing excess or deficiency. Feel free to journey through each individual video, or work with one that resonates with you on your unique path to healing.

Pro tip: Try working with the chakra colour by bringing in flowers, clothing, fabric of your choice to accelerate the healing process of each chakra.

About your Instructor Elisha

What are chakras?

Chakras are spinning wheels of energy that distribute its flow of energy throughout your body to keep you functioning properly. Starting from the base of your spine and working up to the crown of your head, your chakras affect your physical, mental and spiritual well-being.

For example, the throat chakra governs communication, truth, self-expression, and honesty.

Understanding the role and purpose of each chakra is a crucial first step in balancing them and establishing the harmonious flow of energy throughout your being. All of the seven chakras are interconnected; balancing one chakra will create change in the others.

My name is Elisha Conover-Arthurs. I am a founding member of the Ubuntu Community Collective. I am a mother of 4 beautiful children.

I have been on the single mother trajectory for the past few years. It is a very difficult and challenging path at times, although the autonomy is worth every minute.

Throughout this journey as a woman and life-giver, I have been practicing and teaching yoga as a vehicle for radical self care, and internal connection to my mind, body and spirit.

Yoga has helped me transition and transform during the most intense times, including pregnancy, labour, and the long postpartum phase. Yoga has given me the fuel and energy to keep going forward day by day.

This is my offering. Through my practice, Mystic Seed Yoga, that I operate with my sister, and in collaboration with Ubuntu, we created this video series, with our mothers in mind. I invite you to journey through the chakras with me, and bring quick relief and healing to the various energy centres and aspects of your being.

Mystic Seed is a strong virtual kundalini yoga space for our community to practice the art of yoga in big and small ways. Ubuntu offers a scholarship for mothers who feel they would benefit from a regular yoga practice.

Fill the mother's cup and she will poureth over from the source of well-being

This is my prayer for my Sisters here on Earth.
Divine Mother working through us to brighten up the future generations.
