Skate Create Meditate Drop-In Thursdays

Updated: Sep 3, 2021

Cultivating Safe Spaces for Skateboarding

Flyer for August Drop-ins on Thursdays from 5:30 - 8:30 at the Children's Peace Theatre

Skateboarding was introduced to the Tokyo Olympic games and it has captivated the attention of so many people of all ages! Skate Create Meditate is an Ubuntu Community Collective initiative that strives to bring more BIPOC representation to the sport right here in Toronto. We’ve created a respectful and safe and space for youth and families to learn and practice skateboarding. It’s an added perk to our monthly event.

Join us in August from 5:30 - 8:30 pm at the Children’s Peace Theatre parking lot at 305 Dawes Road in Toronto. Learn how to skateboard with our team of Instructors for beginners. We have some boards, pads, and helmets for all ages and abilities. Come and try out skateboarding or bring your rollerblades/skates to mix it up a bit.

We play great tunes and uphold a fun and welcoming vibe! Folks can also come out and be creative. We also have art materials and supplies to activate your artistic side. And yes, we have water, snacks and refreshments because the location is tucked away in Taylor Creek Park.

This is a family and BIPOC-centered space. NO ALCOHOL OR DRUGS allowed. Our mobile skatepark is surrounded by nature and the land is stewarded by the Wiigwaasikaa Community so we value love and respect here.

There is a $10 sliding scale contribution (free for BIPOC folks). Your gift will help us to build this community. What are you waiting for? Come out and skate. See you on Thursdays!

Download, print and sign the waiver before your visit. Copies available on arrival.
